Vaccine and Gene Therapy Institute (VGTI) is conducting some of the most important scientific research and clinical testing underway in the world today. The VGTI Florida research team is focused on the development of new vaccines and novel therapies to boost the immune response among the elderly, treat and ultimately eliminate AIDS, enhance immune responses to cancer, tuberculosis, and other infectious diseases, including those caused by dangerous, emerging viruses. We are part of the budding research technology area on the beautiful coastline in Florida. Our new 100,000 sq. ft research building open to all employees. We currently have 60 employees and will grow to over 220 employees.
Position Summary
Under the direction of the Director of Human Resources, this position coordinates and performs all of the duties to support Human Resources and assist in providing clerical and administrative support.

Position Summary
Under the direction of the Director of Human Resources, this position coordinates and performs all of the duties to support Human Resources and assist in providing clerical and administrative support.
Duties
- Manage, coordinate and facilitate the recruitment and new hire on-boarding process, including preparation and distribution of internal and external offer letters, new hire packages, background checks and conducting new hire training
- Responsible for coordinating interview schedules with candidates, managers, and staffing team members
- Assist in processing new hire paperwork, and benefit inquiries
- Tracking leaves of absence, applicant flow, terminations and other employment actions
- Prepare and maintain data for AAP
- Process and maintain appropriate and audit ready I-9 documentation
- Accurately maintain Human Resources files and other departmental files as directed
- Process background checks and Employee Status Changes
- Post new open positions internally and externally
- Provide support as needed on various projects supporting the Human Resources department
- Develop and possess a working knowledge and understanding of company policies, procedures and practices
- Assist in coordinating group facilitations and Lunch and Learn materials
- Coordinate community calendars, internal employee calendars and all internal communications
- Provide editing and content help for institutes monthly on-line newsletter
- Assist in organizing social events and outings
- Assist HR Director with recognition and rewards programRequirements
- Six months Human Resources experience
- PHR is a plus
- BS in Human Resources or related area preferred
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills
- Must be proficient in MS Office applications
